Here at Winrock International we are assisting USAID to develop a tool to estimate the GHG impact of various activities being supported by USAID. This is known as the USAID AFOLU Carbon Calculator Tool. (currently hosted here: http://winrock.stage.datarg.net/CarbonReporting/Welcome) As part of this, we are interested in estimating the average amount of wood extraction both under legal timber concessions and under other types of common practice. We are therefore looking for information on -allowable extraction rates under regulations / timber codes / forestry laws. (volume wood extracted m3/ha/year) -estimates of common practice of extraction rates (volume timber m3/ha/year) If you have such information or can point us in the right direction, we would really appreciate your assistance. Natasha - IFC is starting some climate resiliency modeling which will focus partly on miombo in MOZ. Will be happy to share results as they bcome available and would appreciate knowing about any progress you have made.
