South-South Exchange on Community Forestry and REDD+

The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) recently organized a 'South-South' exchange on community forestry and REDD+. The 10-day  event took place in Brazil and included participants from Brazilian government agencies, civil society, indigenous peoples organizations and the private sector as well as representatives from six African countries (Central African Republic, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Madagascar and the Republic of Congo). Brazil has the largest national REDD+ program in the world, the Amazon Fund and an innovative model for managing and disbursing funds.

FCPR will document information from the exchange in a Guidebook on Community Forestry and REDD+, which will be posted on the FCPF web site when it is ready.
