This document contains information about a presentation given at USAID on November 3, 2010 by Diane Ragone, on breadfruit, the work of the Breadfruit Institute, and production, utilization, agroforestry, and nutritional benefits of breadfruit.  Her presentaiton highlights the botany, ethnobotany, market and food security potential of breadfruit. Native to the Pacific, but now spread through much of the tropics, this fruit tree can provide significant conservation and NRM benefits. It turns out that breadfruit provides critical habitat and nutrients to certain endangered species and can be grown in complex agroforests.
